Great upgrade from basic scopes
I bought this for my microbiology coursework and it's been fantastic. The trinocular head let me hook up my camera easily, and the images are crisp and bright. Well worth the investment.

The Swift Optical SW380T compound microscope is a trinocular instrument built for serious students, hobbyists, and lab professionals who need dependable optical performance without stepping into research-grade pricing. Featuring a sturdy metal frame with a durable enamel finish, the SW380T combines precision German-inspired optics with the flexibility of digital documentation. Its trinocular head allows simultaneous viewing through the eyepieces and camera attachment, making it easy to capture, display, or share microscopic images and videos for coursework, presentations, or diagnostic reference. Widefield eyepieces paired with achromatic objective lenses provide sharp, distortion-free images across a magnification range typically spanning 40x to 2500x, giving users the versatility to examine everything from plant cells to blood smears.
Mechanically, the SW380T is designed for smooth, accurate specimen handling. The coaxial coarse and fine focus knobs allow for precise adjustments, while the mechanical stage with X-Y specimen control lets users move slides methodically to locate points of interest without disturbing focus. Köhler-style illumination, powered by a bright LED light source with adjustable intensity, ensures consistent lighting quality across magnifications, reducing eye strain during extended use. The condenser features an iris diaphragm for controlling contrast and depth of field, an essential tool for observing transparent or lightly stained specimens common in educational and clinical settings. This level of mechanical and optical refinement makes the SW380T suitable not just for classroom instruction but also for veterinary clinics, quality control labs, and serious enthusiasts documenting their discoveries.
What sets the SW380T apart in the Microscopes & Science Kits category is its blend of accessibility and professional-grade features. The trinocular port accommodates a wide range of digital camera adapters, enabling users to integrate the microscope into modern digital workflows for teaching, publishing, or record-keeping. Its rack-and-pinion stage movement, anti-fungal optics treatment, and rugged construction all contribute to long-term reliability, even in high-use environments like school laboratories. Whether used to introduce students to microscopic worlds or to support more advanced diagnostic and inspection tasks, the Swift Optical SW380T compound microscope delivers a rare combination of image clarity, mechanical precision, and digital adaptability that makes it a standout choice within its class.

The construction feels very solid and professional. Took me a bit to get comfortable with the oil immersion lens, but once I did, the clarity at 1000x was impressive. Docked one star since no camera is included.
I've used cheaper scopes before and this is a night-and-day difference. The LED lighting is bright and even, and the mechanical stage makes navigating slides so much easier. Highly recommend for serious hobbyists.
Overall very happy with the optical quality and sturdiness. The setup instructions were a bit sparse though, so I had to look up tutorials online to get the trinocular camera port working properly.
