Great starter scope for my kid
Bought this for my daughter's science fair project and it worked perfectly. Easy to focus, sturdy, and the 20x/40x switch is simple enough for a 10-year-old to use unsupervised.

The AmScope SE120 is a compact stereo microscope designed for hobbyists, students, and anyone who needs a reliable tool for viewing solid, three-dimensional specimens rather than thin slides. It features a fixed magnification of 20x, achieved through a well-matched pair of achromatic objective lenses and widefield eyepieces that deliver a bright, clear, and true-to-life image. Unlike compound microscopes, the SE120 produces an upright, non-reversed image with a generous working distance, making it easy to manipulate coins, rocks, insects, circuit boards, plants, and other bulky objects while observing them in real time.
Built with a durable metal frame and stand, the SE120 is designed to withstand regular handling in classrooms, workshops, and home settings. Its dual-eyepiece binocular head allows for comfortable, fatigue-free viewing during extended sessions, and the interpupillary distance can be adjusted to suit different users. The microscope includes a top LED or incident light source that illuminates the specimen from above, which is essential for opaque objects, along with a sturdy focus knob that lets users achieve sharp focus without the object slipping out of view. The overall footprint is compact enough to fit on a desk or workbench without dominating the space.
Ideal for beginners, the AmScope SE120 requires no complicated setup or calibration, making it an excellent entry point into the world of stereo microscopy. It’s a popular choice for parents introducing children to hands-on science, teachers demonstrating specimen examination in the classroom, and hobbyists inspecting small parts, jewelry, or collectibles. While it doesn't offer the zoom range or multiple magnification settings of higher-end trinocular stereo microscopes, its simplicity, affordability, and dependable optical performance make it a solid, no-fuss option for anyone needing a straightforward stereo microscope for everyday inspection tasks.

Does exactly what it says—great for looking at coins, rocks, and bugs in 3D. Just don't expect high-power detail; it's fixed at two magnifications so there's no fine-tuning.
The mirror-only version I got doesn't have built-in LED lighting, so I had to use a desk lamp. Otherwise the optics are clear enough for basic hobby use.
I use this daily to inspect coins and stamps. The stereo view makes it easy to spot small details and imperfections. Solid build quality for the price.
We bought several of these for a middle school science lab. They've held up well to student use over two semesters. Basic but reliable.
